The nonprofit Bucksport Bay Healthy Communities Coalition hired me to update its identity—the group’s previous logo contained too much text and didn’t allow them to expand its community outreach. My inspiration for the logo came from nearby Penobscot Bay and the sun symbolizing a new day. I used simple home and building shapes in front of the sun, representing all places people can live and work. I added a sailboat to mean freedom. I also removed the Bucksport Bay text from the main title and moved it to byline text. The entity can quickly add new services and service areas in this position. The board approved this logo currently used in their online and print marketing.
